Trust · Volunteer boards & neighbors
Blocbear is a community hub for self-managed HOAs. Security here means plain English: who holds the keys, what we never see, and what we refuse to do with your data.
When someone links a bank for online dues or board verification, that connection runs through Plaid — the same kind of link many people already trust with other apps. Blocbear never stores bank login credentials.
Online dues move bank-to-bank (ACH). Boards finish a one-time Stripe Connect check so payouts can settle to the HOA operating account. Residents pay through Blocbear — they don’t get a separate “open a Stripe business” pitch.
Your neighborhood’s data stays in your bloc. Board admins see board tools; residents see their home, dues, and neighborhood life. Row-level security in the database keeps one HOA from reading another’s records.
The resident directory starts with addresses. Neighbors choose whether to share email or phone — nothing is blasted to the block by default.
Invited residents can claim their home from a secure email link. Linking a bank is for online payment (and some verification paths) — not a universal gate just to belong.
We don’t sell, rent, or lease your neighborhood data to brokers or ad networks. No invented security badges — if we add a certification later, we’ll say so on this page.
